Ok, I have to admit I was one of the guys who had little to no interest in a Death Knight, the new hero class in the upcoming Wrath of the Lich King expansion for World of Warcraft.  To me I have enough on my plate to worry about my 4 70’s getting to 80 and seeing new content.  AND I was not to keen on the idea of being this “evil” guy who got his kicks out of running around killing things without mercy. . .

BUT was I surprised!

You start as a level 55 Death Knight in the starter zone. .er . . instance.  The first thing that made me fall over in a lore moment was as soon as I finished my intro camera swoop animation that WoW is known for to explain the story, I found myself face to face with the Lich King himself!  Can you say Teh Awesome?

You then begin your quests to learn how to be a Death Knight.  To make a long story short.  (to late) You will be 58 when done and ready to hit outland, or Eastern Plauge Land when done.

(SPOILER ALLERT PAST THIS POINT)

Once you start the final quest you find yourself in an assault on Lights Hope Chapel.  It is truly an epic battle filled with a medium scale invasion from your side, the scourge, against the heavily defended positions.  In the end you are defeated but Arthus shows up to take over.  It is then that you find out that he sent you, and the other Death Knights into battle only to die.  He had no intention of us living.  Its at this point that a key word popped into my head as I was now having a major Lore FIT watching the dialog between the 2 capitol players in the battle.

That word is. . . REDEMPTION!

Without spoiling to much more. . Let’s just say you find yourself now joining your faction.  As you walk the streets on the way to the king, or war chief I would assume, people and guards are throwing rotten fruit at you and calling you a monster.  It is truly an epic end to this experiance.

Im not sure if I will continue to play my DK.  But I am very pleased with how Blizzard handled the story and Lore.  Bravo!
